Sign-in and your data

Google, Microsoft and your data

Epic Portal offers Google and Microsoft sign-in so you do not need another password, and lets our own staff connect their calendar so you can book meetings with them. Here is exactly what each involves.

What sign-in asks for

Only the basic sign-in permissions: openid, email and profile. That gives Epic Portal your name, your email address and whether the provider has verified it.

Google Microsoft

How we use it

  • Your verified email address matches you to the invitation or account your company set up.
  • Your name is shown on your profile and on the tickets you open.
  • We keep the provider's account identifier so the same account signs you in next time.

What we never do

  • Read your email, files or contacts.
  • Ask a client account for any calendar access, or keep provider access tokens for sign-in.
  • Sell your data, use it for advertising or use it to train AI models.

Staff calendars for meeting booking

A member of our staff can choose to connect their Google Calendar (calendar.freebusy and calendar.events) or Microsoft 365 calendar. We then see only when they are busy or free, so the booking pages offer free times, and we add each meeting booked with them to their calendar, updating or removing it if the booking moves or is cancelled. We never read, change or delete their other events. The access tokens are stored encrypted, and when they disconnect we delete them, and for Google also ask Google to revoke our access.

Your control

You can disconnect Google or Microsoft from your account page at any time and sign in with a password instead. To have your account removed, ask your company's portal admin or email ozankurt@epicalgorithms.com.
